STEMCON


The STEMCON 2024 explores the critical convergence of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), AI, cyber security, and sustainability in addressing future workforce needs. Industry, government and university experts will explore how innovative and creative approaches in these interconnected areas can advance progress and equip students with the knowledge and experiences to tackle emerging challenges and innovation. The discussion will focus on strategies for incorporating cybersecurity and sustainability into STEM higher education curricula and practices, highlighting successful case studies and forward-looking solutions. By promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and creative problem-solving, this theme aims to align academic and industry efforts with the evolving demands of the global workforce.


About the STEMCON: Founded through the USAID Indonesia Higher Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI) project, STEMCON is a platform for U.S. and Indonesian industry, government, and universities to convene and develop partnerships and a community of practice to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and development of STEM higher education and program pathways between the U.S. and Indonesia. Our conference unites policymakers, corporate leaders, university and college leaders, and industry poised to make sustainable innovative approaches to develop Indonesia and broader ASEAN STEM education and workforce capacity through strategic public-private partnerships. Sessions and speakers will emphasize an important enterprise-wide workforce partnership development approach that leverages government programs, the private sector, and higher education institutions to create scaled and innovative collective partnerships to bridge the talent gaps in STEM today and into the future. The conference will convene hundreds of universities, industry, and government leaders from Indonesia, the US, and across ASEAN for a strategic dialogue, interactive plenary and technical sessions, panel discussions, networking, exhibits, and seminars that will pave paths for new ventures and partnerships to advance STEM higher education.
